Best Dressed at The SAG's

Here are my picks  for the Best Dressed

 Diana Argon:
Diana looks amazing in this Chanel dress. I love how the dress is a little shorter and the dark blue looks great on her. The dress fit her like a glove and I love that she is still sexy yet dressing her age.

Sarah Hyland:
Sarah is wearing a Max Mara soft orange dress. The twisted dress looks way better than her Globes dress. I find this is more age appropriate for her and it looks great on her.

Hillary Swank:
This is my favourite dress of the night! This Versace dress is b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l! It hits her in all the right spots and the back of the dress is gorgeous. The body

Justin Timberlake:
I like the white stripes in the tie, it adds a little something to the plain suit.

Christian Bale:
I love the black on black look. Christian did it good on the carpet. However his wife looks bad the dress and hair look real bad.

James Franco:
James looks good here, its a classic look but what I love is that he wore a tie instead of a bow tie. The SAG's are suppose to be fun and I prefer to see a tie.

Worst Dressed at the SAG's

Here are my picks for the worst dressed at the SAG awards:

January Jones:
This Carolina Herrera dress looks awful on her and on anyone. She wore a sexy revealing dress at the Globes and she followed it up with this ugly dress.

Nicole Kidman:
Nicole is wearing a Nina Ricci dress that completely washes her out. This dress is just all sorts of awful. I can't even begin to describe how horrible she looks. What makes the ugly dress worst is the giant necklace she decided to wear with an already high neckline. That's why they say less is more!

Jennifer Lawrence:
Lawrence is wearing a hot bubble gum pink that does nothing for her.  The 5 straps make the dress look frumpy and the black belt does nothing for the dress. Even without the belt the dress is a hot mess.

Golden Globes vs SAG's Fashion

Here's a look at what celebs wore to the Golden Globes compared to the SAG's

Julie Bowan
At the Golden Globes: Not a very big fan of the nude colour and feather ruffles. She is wearing Tadashi Shoji.

At the SAG's: Julie took a big risk wearing a pant suit. However the risk paid off! She looks great, the low cut top make the look sexy yet dressy. The pant suit is from malandrino.

Helena Bonham Carter
At the Golden Globes: Here Helena took a big risk which of course looks crazy but that's how she is. This is fashion to her and it's great she isn't scared to take chances.

At the SAG's: Helena surprised many by toning down her look and wearing a beautiful Mar Jacobs dress.

Claire Danes

Claire at the Golden Globes: She is wearing a peachy low cut back Calvin Klein Collection. She looks good here not great but the dress fits her well.

At the SAG awards: Claire missed the hit with this Louis Vuitton dress. The belt is too long and the ruffles hide her curves.  And the barbie pink lipstick is washing her out.

Tina Fey

At the Golden Globes: Tina, Tina, Tina! She looks awful. Her hair looks like a mess and well the dress looks like curtains I took down and burned. She looks like a hot mess.

At the SAG's: WOW! It's amazing what a few weeks can do. I bet she finally hired a stylist because she looks amazing here. Tina is wearing Oscar De La Renta and she was fire hot on the red carpet. I'm happy Tina has found the fashion gods!

Christina Hendricks

At the Golden Globes: Christina hid her assets in this Romona Keveza dress. Unfortunately the dress is washing her out and the giant ruffle is eating her alive. It is not flattering

At the SAG's: Christina is wearing a L'Wren Scott wrap dress that reminds me of a Hugh Hefner smoking coat. Again this dress does nothing for her, if anything it makes her look bigger than she is.

Julianna Margulies

At the Golden Globes: Julianna is looking washed out in this vintage YSL dress. The skirt part to this dress does nothing for her figure and looks frumpy.

At the SAG's: Julianna redeemed herself at the SAG awards. Again she wore a YSL dress but this dress was hitting her in all the right spots. She looks sexy in this dress.

Natalie Portman

At the Golden Globes: Natalie wearing a soft pink Viktor & Rolf with a red flower accent.  I wish she would have showed the baby bump with a tighter dress but the colour looks good on her.

At the SAG awards: Natalie looks better than she did at the Globes. She is wearing an Azzaro white dress with silver accents. Finally she is wearing a tighter dress that is showing off her bump but the dress doesn't fit her in other places .
 Kyra Sedgwick

At the Golden Globes: Here Kyra is wearing a mustard coloured dress from Emilio Pucci. The mustard isn't the best colour on her or the fit of the dress.

At the SAG awards: Kyra is looking hot in this black Thierry Mugler. It is a plain black dress but I think it fits her perfectly and the little devil horns at the bust make the dress. I think she looks great!

Julia Stiles

At the Golden Globes: This dress does nothing for her. Julia is wearing a Romona Keveza and it doesn't hit her in the right spot. The dress completely washes her out.

At the SAG's: Julia is wearing a faded Monique Lhuillier dress. The tight bodice shows off her curves and the full skirt goes from a midnight blue to a white. I'm not a big fan of the faded colour, I find there is too much white but it's a vast improvement from the Globes.

SAG Awards

Last night marked the 17th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.  My favourite part of the night was the red carpet.  The award show itself can be a little boring especially without a host like the Golden Globes and I was able to predict almost every single award given.  It was still nice to see the few surprises like Betty White winning and I always look forward to hearing the acceptance speeches.  I like the speeches that are funnier and short instead of naming absolutely everyone that worked on the film or that you know.  It's boring!

The highlights of the night for me we're seeing Betty White win for best female in a comedy series. It was her first time nominated and her first win at the age of 89!!! She looked amazing and of course was hilarious. Her speech started off heartfelt by her utter shock for winning then she ended the speech with the classic too funny Betty White.  She started stroking and flirting with the statue she just won it was priceless.

My favourite speech other than Betty was Christian Bale.  His speech at the Golden Globes was all over the place, thanking everyone and even being cut off by the music so I was a little nervous when he went to accept the actor last night but I was very surprised by his short but sweet speech.  The best part was seeing the real Dickie Eklund come on stage and congratulate him. If anyone saw the The Fighter then you know who I'm talking about, if you haven't seen The Fighter then hurry up and get down to the theatre and watch it! It is one of my favourite movies and Bale did an amazing job.  Bale started his speech by saying he didn't want to ramble on and list of everyone so he thanked everyone as a group, thanked the real Dickie and Micky and then thanked his wife and daughter.  It was funny, heartfelt and short, the perfect speech.

The big winners of the night were:
In Film:
Best Cast Motion Picture- The King's Speech
Male Actor in a Leading Role- Colin Firth "The King's Speech"
Female Actor in a Leading Role- Natalie Portman "Black Swan"
Male Actor in a Supporting Role- Christian Bale "The Fighter"

Best Cast Comedy Series- Modern Family
Best Cast Drama Series- Boardwalk Empire

Male Actor in a Comedy Series- Alec Baldwin "30 Rock"
Female Actor in a Comedy Series- Betty White "Hot in Cleveland"

Male Actor in a TV movie or miniseries- Al Pacino "You Don't Know Jack"

Like I said my favourite part of the whole night was the red carpet.  I love fashion and seeing what everyone is wearing and who they are wearing. In the next post I've picked a few actresses and classified them in best dressed, worst dressed and compared their dresses from the Globes to the SAGs. I also have a few sharpest dress men.

What did you think of the SAGs?

NHL All-Star Skills

Last night the NHL All-Star Skills event took place in Raleigh, North Carolina.  I usually don't watch the all star games for any sports, I find them to be a little boring and old.  But I have so far watched each event for the NHL all stars. I really like the new format that they've done this year.  On Friday they had two captains voted by the players of the NHL, Eric Staal from Carolina Hurricanes and Nicklas Lidstrom from the Detroit Red Wings.  They then had a fantasy draft where each captain with their alternate captains picked players.  I really like this format, its new, fresh and different from the previous years.  What I think I liked the most was seeing the players interact with each other and joke around.  It's always nice to see these hockey players that you watch on the ice and hear that they are jerks actually turn out to be nice.  The funniest part of the night was probably Jonathan Toews being picked so late in the draft by team Lidstrom even though Patrick Kane who is an alternate captain said he didn't want Toews on his team.  Then Marc Staal brother of Eric Staal was still not picked and said that he was deeply hurt by his brother and that their mother would be upset with him.  It was nice to see some of the hockey players have fun and some of them are very funny.

Last night was the skills event where there was fastest skater, hardest shot, accuracy, best breakaway, team relay and team shootout.  Team Staal  ended up winning by a lot but got easy points from Alex Ovechkin who should not have won best breakaway but the winner was voted by the fans.  Corey Perry and P.K Subban did way better tricks that we're harder and more complex.  Ovie scored on one of his runs but it was only because Marc-Andre Fleury was on the ground and didn't even bother to try and save it.  During the accuracy event Daniel Sedin won by going 4 for 4.  It was amazing to watch how fast and perfect he did it.  Then during the team relay which Team Lidstrom won because of the perfect performance from Toews who ended up going 4 for 4 during the accuracy part.

All in all, I found that the NHL All-Star weekend is by far the best all star event in all of sports.  I love all sports and watch all sports but nothing compares to the NHL all star weekend.  Tonight the NFL Pro-Bowl is on and I might watch a little bit of it but I find it to be boring.  The teams that are in the Superbowl don't send any players and then many players back out due to injuries they received during the season. They use to show the Pro Bowl after the Superbowl but no one cared to watch it so to try and generate more viewers they put it before the Superbowl as a kickoff to the Superbowl.  I don't think it matters if it's before or after the Superbowl until the Pro Bowl gets more exciting it's not going to generate a lot of viewers.  That brings me to the NBA all star game. Similar to the NHL the day before they have the Skills event where selected players compete in best dunk and team relay's, three point shot and so on.  I use to watch it, but lately I haven't been watching it as much.  I like to tune into the dunk competition because you never know what someone is going to do but the actual all star game is boring.  Come to think about it, basketball is starting to get boring in general. I prefer watching NCAA because the game feels more real and true. In the NBA the players travel, double dribble and exaggerate everything.  Finally I don't mind the home run challenge for baseball.  I always wish for an underdog to come in and hit the most of out but I rarely watch the actually all star game.

Today I'll most likely tune into the NHL All Star game for at least the period where Carey Price is in net.  That's just because I'm a huge Montreal Canadiens fan and I want to see how well Price does.  Also my favourite player Jonathan Toews is playing and where I live the Blackhawks games are rarely broadcasting so it will be nice to see him and a  few other players that I don't get to see much of play.  Tonight the Pro Bowl is on and I probably won't watch any of it since my favourite player Jared Allen from my team the Minnesota Vikings didn't make it.  But what I will be watching is the SAG awards and I'll post later on the best and worst dressed stars.  Then I'll be recording the winter x games from Aspen because Shaun White is looking to four peat the super pipe and well I'm a huge Shaun White fan!

Here are a few pictures from the All Star skills Event.  All pictures are from The Toronto Sun online.  Another thing I like about the All Star Skills Event is you get to see all the players without their helmets on!!

Chara set the record for hardest shot at 105.9
Toews, Sharp and Kane from Chicago
P.K Subban first All-Star game shooting on Fleury
As a huge Habs fan, I love this picture! P.K running into Fleury
The youngest player, Jeff Skinner, only 18.

First Post!

Hi everyone!

This is my first post! I decided to start a blog because it was something I added to my bucket list and I figured why not start now!  I'll be talking about everything on my blog but mostly concentrating on hair and makeup.  I started to add makeup and hair tutorials on youtube. I'll post on here when I've added my videos on my youtube page.  I'll also be blogging about sports! I love sports.  The Superbowl is 2 weeks away and the hockey season is at the half way mark so there will be lots to talk about in the next few weeks!  I also love anything Hollywood and celebrities.  I'll be writing about movies and TV shows and whats going on in Hollywood.

So in the next few days I'll give a recap about my favourite show on TV right now, The Vampire Diaries.  The new episode aired on Thursday.  Also the SAG awards are on this Sunday so I'll give a preview of who's nominated and my predictions of who's going to win.  And well for me the best thing about award shows is what everyone was wearing so I'll be posting who I thought was the best and worst dress celebs!
